Fergusson in association with Microsoft presents Calyx - an annual technical fest for colleges in Pune
Dear all,
As you all know, Calyx will be beginning on the 22nd of December 2006. We're taking in entries until the very last moment if possible (so long as we can accomodate people). We can increase the slots if you register early by arranging more labs, but this cannot be done later. Out of experience, we've seen that people have a tendency to register at the very last minute, which increases our workloads quite a lot.
So please do register quickly if you've not done so yet, and do forward this mail to anyone (relevant) whom you might know. Posting this announcement on communities and mailing lists is encouraged (so long as you don't spam).
Microsoft (viz. Mohamed Reza and his team) will be taking an active part in Calyx and will be sponsoring goodies and prizes (and naturally judging the events).
The specific events are:
1. The Programming contest: This is the standard routine thing we all do a hundred times a year. :-)
2. Project Exhibition: Anything goes, so long as you can sell it. Absolutely any crazy stuff is encouraged. Due to space limitations, we have to restrict entries here and only a few slots are remaining.
Also, two events will be exclusively sponsored and judged by Microsoft:
1. A Web designing contest
2. An Algorithms contest: This is similar to bot programming contests but instead of bots fighting each other, they will be struggling to complete some task.
There are a lot more intra-collegiate events for exclusively Fergussonians which I won't mention here. There's only 48 hours left to register. Registrations will end on 21st December in the evening. If you want to reserve slots you can call us up or mail us and reserve them and complete registration formalities later.
The contest is meant for local Pune (and nearby) colleges, so please do limit forwards to relevant people. However, we would welcome any contestants from anywhere in India (as some are already coming), though we will need prior intimation of such a bit early so as to make necessary arragements.
Hope to see you all at Calyx........
